Ritual, buffet dinner, raffles, dancing! The Cat, The Crow, and The Crown is holding a Lammas celebration on Saturday, August 1. The Cat, The Crow, and The Crown is a Witch shop in Salem MA, owned by Laurie Cabot, the Official Witch of Salem. The celebration is being held at the Moose Lodge at 50 Grove Street in Salem. Everyone is welcome!
The Cat, The Crow, and The Crown holds a ritual for every sabbat of the year. You can visit the store in person at 63R Wharf Street in Salem or on MySpace.
The evening begins at 7:00 pm with a majick circle in the Cabot Tradition. Participants should plan to arrive before 7:00 to avoid being late to the ritual and breaking the circle. (For another group’s comments on punctuality and other ritual etiquette, see www.tnw-salem.org/TNWetiquette.html.) Everyone is welcome to join the circle, whether they are a Witch or follow "a different path altogether," says John, an employee at The Cat, The Crow, and The Crown. When the circle is opened, participants can enjoy a buffet dinner, raffles, and dancing into the night!
Participants will be charged $15 per person at the door, regardless of how long they stay. The buffet dinner is included. The money raised will go to Project Witches Protection (PWP), an organization founded by Ms. Cabot under the name Witches League for Public Awareness in 1986. PWP "is a proactive educational network dedicated to correcting misinformation about Witches and Witchcraft. The work of the Project springs from a shared vision of a world free from all religious persecution." (PWP’s mission statement.) For more information, see www.witchesprotection.com.
"Majick" refers to magick practiced by a Witch trained in the Cabot Tradition. For more information, see www.lauriecabot.com/Do's_and_donts_of_the_Craft.html.
